How to become champion by Gamifying your life.

Dear friends,

Recently I search literature regarding to my new research project, but during research I got something interesting. The controlled clinical trials on the effect of the game. And curiously I open the link. The clinical trial conducted by university of Pennsylvania for effect of gamification. Then on more research about such trial I found that playing games actually helps us to grow. But the question is what types of the games? How playing COD, God of War or GTA helps you to grow. No playing games entire day was not going to help you. But if we apply the attitude of gamer in everyday life the same going to help us. What does that mean by the attitude of gamer?

When you play games in which you are interested below listed things you do very naturally.

  • 1.      Stop quitting even you lose or failed to perform specific task.
  • 2.       You improvise (Think creatively and taking more risks) to solve specific challenge.
  • 3.       When you playing games, you don’t care about time. In other words you just want to play on and on.
  • 4.       You are so focused on playing game that your life depends upon it.
  • 5.        You eagerly waiting to play the game you love.

The list may go on and on. But we should stop here. Even I remember when I played God of War on my play station I become so focused that, the concentration and focus transfer me to the world of Kratos. Whatever your favourite games. It can be Mario, Call of duty, God of War, Prince of Persia, Candy crush or GTA and you can relate to me on that point. Number one thing the game does to us is to challenge us. It provides us belief that we can defeat the most challenging villains in the games by slowly and steadily giving us power (of course by performing or completing specific mission) to deal with difficulties in the games. But what happens to the real life. Can we bring that never say die attitude of gamer in our daily life. Of course yes. Simply by gamification of life we get that never say die attitude of gamer in our daily life.

How to apply gamification in life :

How many of us failed in dieting or doing daily workout? Mostly all of us failed on New Year resolution. The reason behind the failure is simple. We take the daily task as someone externally forces us to do it. But when we play games no one told us to kill the villain but we have to do it to feel the sense of victory. That’s the point. The sense of victory by doing little things which accumulated over time to becomes our character and finally leads us to beautiful destiny.

But first we have to gamify our life to bring attitude of the gamer in daily life.

Friends we have to do two kinds of tasks in the daily life.

·         Routine Tasks:  The tasks we have to do on daily basis.

·         Specific Tasks: The tasks we have to do not on regular basis but these tasks are extremely important for our growth (For example : Giving presentation, Giving interview like that)

Now one aspect of the game is to score. In other words, if we there is no score in the game then what’s the point to play the game. That exactly happens in the routine tasks. No one gives us score or points. And that’s the main reason that we don’t feel sense of victory as we don’t have the point system hence we don’t have the final target for day, week, month or year.

Now we have to do little work to bring point system into play. For that we can use spread sheet or any other calculation sheet you have.

First identify your daily routine task. For each task performance give yourself +5 points and if you miss it you have to pay for it with negative points (-10!!!). Sad but true. The benefit of negative points is that it prevents you to breaking momentum. Now you can make your daily, weekly or monthly target based on your requirement. And give yourself treat on achieving desired goals or score par excellence level. And give your self punishment if you failed to get desired score like not watching TV for next week or until I Score more than 100 in next week or so. You can make improvisation  as per your requirement because its your game and you are the hero of your game.

And what about specific tasks. Well specific tasks can be treated as separate or parallel mission in which series of little tasks or dots connect together to bring achieve specific task.

For example : Giving great presentation can devided into subtasks each with +5 or -10 points .

1.       Choosing subject

2.       Research on topics

3.       Preparation of PowerPoint slides

4.       How to deliver speech

5.       The way question answer session attended and so on and on...

Give each and every subtask equal focus and importance can boost confidence to beat the final villain or boss of the game aka giving good presentation that bring to the sense of victory.

The point system I mentioned here shall gives you proper measurement for your success (In spread sheet you also makes graph from your collected data too which gives you overall great feeling and inspire you to put more effort) and if you measure what matters than the success will be yours. And remember gamers don’t even think to quit because it’s their call of duty to play till the end of their life.

Eisenhower matrix of decision making

Dear readers, In life the most important skills we needed is to be highly effective at any given time. But as irony of our education system this type of skills we don’t learned during our schools or colleges. That’s why for the most of the days we struggle to make two ends meet. However in the world there are few individuals who master the quest called “ Decision making or time management”. One such person is US precident Dwight D. Eisenhower. Dwight D. Eisenhower once said: “The most urgent decisions are rarely the most important ones.”  Eisenhower was considered a master of time management. In other words he had the ability to do everything as and when it needed to be done. With the Eisenhower method, we will learn to distinguish between what is important and what is urgent. Whatever the job that lands on your desk, begin by breaking it down according to the Eisenhower method and then decide how to proceed. There are four fields in the model widely known as Eisenhower prior...

The Best stratergy for great life

Share it on: Hi,  Welcome back.  In this post we discuss about best strategy to live good life.  The stratergy to be the best version of your self.  The stratergy I about to discuss here is very very simple but it removes almost all the unnecessary confusions from your life.  The stratergy is  " Be ruthless to follow single law whichever suitable to you".  Ruthless doesn't mean being aggressive but be like someone with stillness to follow the principles or actions for pursuit of desired action.  And laws are the compass or guiding /navigation system which clearly shows what to do next.  Now the question is how one single law rule entire life.  If your law is not guiding you in every situation then its not law its plan. Plan can or can not be worked but law always works.  The few examples of laws here we discussed are 1. Law of appreciation or gratitude.  2. Law of Giving...
